Senior Project Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Geneva, Switzerland

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects and activities related to IT infrastructure and modern workplace technologies. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in a similar role and have strong experience in project management, PRINCE2, Agile Project Management, project portfolio management, budget management, and change management.

Role description: The role will take care of a portfolio of projects and activities.

As such, he/she will:

· Prepare and manage project plans and project documentation for all the projects

· Identify project risks and link to project and business objectives

· Assess on-going relevant activities impacting resource allocation

· Prepare a simple resource allocation and reporting tool

· Orchestrate resource allocation among the projects and teams

· Directly manage two to three major projects

· Be the primary point of contact for the scheduling of externally-led projects that involve IT resources

Skills:

  • Project management:

  • PRINCE2 certified / strong PRINCE2 experience

    • Agile Project Management

    • Project Portfolio management

  • Budget management

  • Change management

  • Excellent knowledge of English, both oral and written

  • ITIL certification would be a plus

  • Spoken French would be a plus

  • Experience within an international organization a plus

Software development languages and tools:

Good knowledge of:

· MS Project or equivalent tools

· Atlassian Jira and Confluence

· Microsoft Planner would be a plus

Experience: Min 10 years’ experience in a similar role. Required: previous experience in projects involving the delivery of IT projects, either purely infrastructural (e.g. network refresh) or involving the deployment of modern workplace technologies such as collaboration ones.

Optional (a plus): previous experience in Microsoft 365 deployments, with particular emphasis on Teams and Intune adoption.

Tasks:

• Strategy & Planning

- Detail project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.

- Track project milestones and deliverables.

- Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project teams, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.

- Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.

- Assess project benefits realization and evaluate after project closure.

- Conduct project ‘lessons learned’ and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

- Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

• Acquisition & Deployment

- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.

- Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.

- Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.

- Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.

• Operational Management

- Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.

- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.

- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.

- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.

- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.

- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.

- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.

- Participate in quality management activities.

- Manage project risks and issues throughout the project duration.

- Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
